Pool player breaks foot!

A match in Wales was recently abandoned due to a player breaking his own foot during a pool match.

We’ve all done it at some time I expect, lifted one end of the table when a ball gets stuck!  But Morgan Evans lifted it up a little too far on this occasion in order to impress the attractive girls who played in the opposing side.

Far from impressing them on this occasion however, he made a real twit of himself when he dropped the table from a height, and broke three bones in his foot.

In such pain, and unable to move, he lay beside the table whilst an ambulance was called.

The players had to step over him on occasions to continue the match. However the girls protested that he was putting them off their game, as some of them were wearing skirts.

Felix the cat was very lucky when it’s owners went away for the weekend.  They asked some friends to look after the pub and feed the cat in their absence.

When the owners came back they were told that the cat had not been seen since they went away, and it was feared that he had been run over.

Both families went out in terrible weather conditions with torches and umbrellas, but could find no trace of him.

They were having a warm drink in the bar afterwards when they heard a cat crying from inside the pool table.

Mike Birch, the Landlord of `The Lion Inn` said that he had emptied the table the day he went away and the cat must have sneaked inside.

Still, no damage was done, despite the fact that that over 30 games of pool had been played over the weekend that they were away.

Man gets cue ball stuck in mouth

Will Lovett thought he was on to a good thing when he could win free beer by betting that he could put a pool ball into his mouth.  Unfortunately his party trick was wearing a bit thin with his mates who hatched a plan that was to prove very costly to Will.

Egged on to perform his trick whilst under the influence of too many beers already, one of Will's mates had obtained a set of balls bigger then the ones Will was used to performing with.

Will wouldn't admit defeat and struggled to fit the ball in, but like a true professional he managed the trick, won his bet, and gave a `VERY BIG` grin.

Unfortunately the grins were on everybody else's faces when Will tried to get the ball out again.  Try as he might there was no way Will could get the ball out again, and a trip to the local hospital was the only hope. Somebody suggested that it might be best if he swallowed it and offered Will double or quits but he didn't see the funny side at all, particularly when some of his teeth were loosened in the process of removal, and he was left with a hefty dental bill.

Dog eats players cue!

And it wasn't even his cue.

Blue Moon Leisure are used to repairing cues that have been in accidents such as being dropped or snapped in car doors, but one request we were unable to help with was from a man who had borrowed his mate's cue whilst he was on holiday, and without his mate's permission!

The gentleman entered our offices looking very concerned, almost pleading with us to repair his mate's cue. We told him we would do our best, could we see it? and with that he handed us a piece of wood that we thought he had been throwing to his dog to chase.

`You see my mate's gone on holiday and I took the liberty of borrowing it from the club whilst he was away` he told us, `and we have a new puppy that's not yet house trained!`

Well, you could have found a better piece of wood washed up on the beach to play pool with, and though we can make almost any type of cue repair, this one was even too much for us.

The outcome of it all?  Two weeks later a gentleman came into our factory asking to buy a new cue.  Certainly, what type of cue would you like we asked.  

`Well I've just had my very expensive cue pinched from the club`, he replied, `and I'd like one the same if possible`.  He then spotted the half eaten cue that the previous gentleman had left behind and was put in the corner for our customers amusement.

`The butt was like that one`, the gentleman stated.

Fortunately he was able to claim back on insurance from the club, and we made him a custom-made cue that he is extremely happy with.
